The Surrounding Area

Wiltshire is one of the most beautiful counties in England. Situated to the west of London it is often referred to as the Gateway to the West Country.

Wiltshire’s diversity makes it a pleasant lifestyle change to the traditional commuter home counties. Over half of the county is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty with many wooded valleys, rolling plains and idyllic, classical English villages.

A rich history blesses the county with fascinating ancient monuments such as Stonehenge and Avebury. There are historic market towns such as Marlborough, Malmesbury and Devizes.  The world heritage city of Bath and the bustling cities of Bristol and Cardiff are all close by.

Transport links are excellent; Chippenham is well connected by road and rail.  A fast inter city rail service connects Chippenham to London Paddington in 70 minutes every half an hour. By air London (Heathrow & Gatwick), Bristol, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Southampton and Exeter airports are all within easy reach of Chippenham.  London Heathrow is just over an hours drive from Chippenham.
