Alliance was founded in 1996 by John Dawson, Chief Executive and commenced trading in 1998. Since then the company has grown consistently with a strong acquisition and development program
2008
Acquired the brand Pavacol-D® from William Ransom & Sons. Pavacol-D® is an opioid cough suppressant that is suitable for use by diabetics as it is sugar free
2007
In a joint venture with a local distributor acquired the rights to market Forceval® in China
2006
Saw the largest number of acquisition deals yet achieved in a single year:
- Alliance acquired the UK rights to Hydromol®, a family of cream, emollient and ointment products for various dry skin conditions, bringing critical mass to the dermatology portfolio
- Acquisition of Dermamist® UK marketing rights from Caraderm, a spray used for dry skin conditions, complementing the dermatology range
- Acquisition of the oral steroid Deltacortril®, the oral anti-histamine Atarax® and Terracortril® from Pfizer, giving Alliance UK rights to additional products for the dermatology range and other indications which these well established products are used for
- 2006 also saw the acquisition of Permitabs® in the UK and Eire for eczematous wounds from Derma UK
- To complete its sixth acquisition deal in 2006, Alliance acquired the UK rights to Syntometrine® from Novartis. Alliance has marketed and distributed Syntometrine® in the UK since 1998 under a distribution agreement, this deal has given Alliance ownership of the UK marketing rights

Saw three further acquisitions:
- Dermapharm Ltd gaining the rights to four niche dermatologicals
- The assets of Unigreg Ltd giving Alliance significant UK turnover and an international network of distributors with Forceval®
- CollaGenex Inc divested the rights to Periostat® in the UK, Europe and various international territories to Alliance. Periostat® is a strong growth opportunity in the developing dental pharmaceutical market
2003
Heralded an important milestone when Alliance floated on the Alternative Investment Market AIM of the London Stock Exchange
2002
Acquired two dermatological brands from Procter and Gamble and expanded into the republic of Ireland with the acquisition of the rights to NuSeals® from Eli Lilly and Company
2001
Alliance acquired Distamine® from Eli Lilly and Company and later in the year acquired Symmetrel® and Slow K® from Novartis
1999
Alliance acquired the rights to Nasepetin®, Broflex®, Biorphen® and Pragmatar® from Bioglan by conventional outright acquisition
1998
Alliance entered into a fostering arrangement with Novartis and took over the marketing and distribution of 16 quality prescription brands
